The UCSC Graduate Division approved Yang Xiang’s PhD Dissertation today!! He is now no longer merely Mr. Xiang, but is now the esteemed Dr. Xiang! In other great news, the aforementioned esteemed Dr. Xiang was recently selected as one of the 2021 CICOES Postdoctoral Fellows, and will be going off to the University of Washington in October 2021 to start a postdoc with Paul Quay, Rolf Sonnerup, and Andrea Fassbender. Double yay for Dr. Xiang!!
Allison is winner of “Future Leaders in Coastal Science” award!
Allison is on fire this week! She learned that she is this year’s winner of the 2020-21 Future Leaders in Coastal Science Award from the UCSC Physical and Biological Sciences Division. Allison will work with UCSC Environmental Science major Jenna Martinez on the interaction of cadmium geochemistry and food web dynamics in the California Current. Yay Allison and Jenna!
