Preprint of Jong-Mi Lee’s paper on hydrothermal pMn speciation in GCA is available online!

I love this paper–Jong-Mi did some very careful synchrotron analyses of the speciation of pMn in the near- and far-field hydrothermal plume of the EPR. We find that the mineralogy of Mn oxides may be an important parameter that controls the scavenging of many trace elements and isotopes.

We shelled out for open access: you can find the preprint here:

Congratulations to Yang on his first accepted paper on particles in the Arctic!

Yang’s first paper on lateral and vertical particle sources in the Arctic has just been accepted by JGR-Oceans! The accepted version is available here:

Article: Size-fractionated compositions of marine suspended particles in the Western Arctic Ocean: lateral and vertical sources

One’s first paper is always a huge accomplishment, and this one got some very nice support from our anonymous reviewers: “this is a major contribution to the literature on the Arctic Ocean, well-referenced, and the authors are commended on their efforts. I am sure this paper will have a long life in the development of our understanding of this curious basin.”
Yay Yang!
