Allison is winner of “Future Leaders in Coastal Science” award!
Allison is on fire this week! She learned that she is this year’s winner of the 2020-21 Future Leaders in Coastal Science Award from the UCSC Physical and Biological Sciences Division. Allison will work with UCSC Environmental Science major Jenna Martinez on the interaction of cadmium geochemistry and food web dynamics in the California Current. Yay Allison and Jenna!
Allison awarded a Myer’s Trust award!
Congratulations to Allison Laubach, who just heard that she was awarded a grant from the Dr. Earl H. Myers and Ethel M. Myers Oceanographic and Marine Biology Trust for her proposal to work on cadmium transfer through food webs!
Final open access version of Jong-Mi’s paper available at GCA!
Jong-Mi’s hard work coaxing Mn speciation data out of low level natural particle samples from the East Pacific Rise hydrothermal plume paid off. She finds that near-field pMn has different mineralogy than far-field pMn, and this affects scavenging of several trace elements and isotopes.
